Seven months after the undead rise-up to feast on the feast of the living, the world is in chaos. Cities across the globe are being overrun by these nightmare creatures, leading to an epic, world-wide battle dubbed the War on Dead (W.O.D). Meanwhile, documentary filmmaker Jillian Hurst is tasked with making a pro-W.O.D. propaganda film, leading her to join a diverse, roving band of North American zombie hunters known as "The DeadHeads." As Jillian's all-seeing lens captures the grueling reality of their never-ending struggle, exhaustion begins to take its toll on the heavily-armed brigade, leading to internal conflicts that threaten to weaken their resolve, and allow the flesh-eating masses to inherit the earth.
