Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Tunisian patriots rise up against their French colonial suppressors in this routine war drama. An individual act of defiance explodes into a national crusade to insure the independence of Tunisia. The oppressed Tunisians battle brutal police tactics and wine-guzzling French soldiers in their struggle for freedom. The technical aspects are uneven, and passages drew unintentional laughter from the audience at the 1967 Moscow Film Festival.
