Clementine is a well-meaning but poorly-coordinated girl who lives in a mining camp, where she meets and falls in love with Levi Strauss. However, she refuses to marry Strauss unless he follows his dream and opens a tailor shop in San Francisco. He sets out to do just that, promising Clementine that he will return.
