This performance video presents the Sydney Dance Company as they entertain a live audience with a freshly interpreted version of the Greek story by Longus, of two young lovers whose hearts are tested by the evil forces conspiring against them. Graerne Murphy choreographs the age-old story of true love, with a musical score by Maurice Ravel. Many critics believe this tragic story, with its poignant score, was Ravel's most outstanding and lasting achievement.
