Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Hong Kong filmmaker Wilson Tong directed this standard crime procedural starring Diana Pang as Ling Peidan, a key witness in an upcoming trial who is guarded by the newly formed PWU, a witness-protection division of the police. Chen Chong (Max Mok), Yin Yingming (Ben Ng), and Guo Chenyong (Peter Yung) are the officers assigned to keep Ling from being eliminated by a ruthless bald hitman (Elvis Tsui) before she can testify. The film is dotted with eccentric touches -- Chen is an expert hypnotist, and there are parodies of Basic Instinct and Chungking Express for the film-savvy -- but the story line is otherwise ordinary. Lo Lieh co-stars with Tai Po and Bobby Yip.
