Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The weekly, half-hour Canadian children's show Dancing Storybook represented a collaboration between the CBC network and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Each episode detailed the adventures of two youngsters as they searched for a magical coat-patch inherited from their father (shades of radio's The Cinnamon Bear). The story was advanced not through dialogue, but instead through elaborate dance routines, with choreographer Briand MacDonald calling the shots. Dancing Storybook aired on Wednesday afternoons from April 1 to June 24, 1959.
