Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Florence Reed is The Dancing Girl in this Famous Players five-reeler. The heroine, one Drusilla Ives, leaves her country home when she is enticed to the City by an amorous Duke. What usually happens in films of this nature is that the girl is betrayed by her "benefactor," whereupon she either resorts to prostitution or returns disillusioned to her hometown. In this film, however, Drusilla and the Duke are happily married, but her road to success is marred by a "curse" placed upon her by her unforgiving father, which manifests itself when she falls down a flight of stairs and injures her legs. Director Allan Dwan handled the material with his usual inventiveness and efficiency.
