Synopsis by Robert Firsching

Prolific Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Jing directed this standard comedy intended as a star vehicle for the amiable pairing of Andy Lau and Sharla Cheung. Lau plays a wealthy real estate developer named Lone Ka-chun who falls for the beautiful and ambitious young working girl Moon (Cheung). Lone's mother wants him to marry a woman he intensely dislikes, so he poses as an illegal immigrant on Lantau Island to get back at her and takes a job at a store run by Moon's mother. One evening, Moon needs a date for a fancy society party, so she takes Ka-chun and soon falls for him. All is not rosy for the couple, however, as they must deal with a sneaky rival who wants Moon and her mother off the island so he can use their land for a new development. Alfred Cheung leads a familiar supporting cast including Deanie Yip, Yvonne Yung, and Ng Man-tat.
