Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
The directors took three years to complete this 96-minute documentary of the works of Italian filmmaker Luca Comerico (1874-1940). The court photographer filmed the landing of Italian marines in Libya in 1911. Animal safaris to the South Pole, India, Russia, and Africa are also shown. The time-consuming task of the directors involved taking still photographs of more than half a million frames from the original film negative. This feature appeared in 1987 at the Chicago and Edinburgh Film Festivals.
