Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Producer Thomas H. Ince often took credit for directing his films as well, even though he rarely appeared on set. It is therefore impossible to determine whether Ince actually did direct Custer's Last Fight, a 3-reel version of the infamous battle, or whether the film was helmed by its star, Francis Ford. Suffice it to say, Ince rushed his version of General George Armstrong Custer's final stand through production in order to scoop rival D.W. Griffith, who was readying The Massacre. Both films were completed the very same day, but Griffith's version was not released until 1914. Custer's Last Fight co-starred Ince's great Indian star William Eagleshirt, daredevil rider Anna Little and, in a small role, future western star Art Acord.
