Synopsis by Mark Deming

Men take to the ice with brooms in hand to show who's the champ in this sports-themed comedy from Norwegian director Ole Endresen. Once upon a time, Truls Paulsen (Atle Antonsen) was the captain of Norway's best curling team; alongside skirt-chasing Marcus (Jon Oigarden), no-nonsense Flemming (Steinar Sagen), and ill-tempered Espen (Jan Saelid), Truls took his team to victory with the help of chain-smoking coach Gordon Ingar Helge Gimle). But Truls takes the game a bit too seriously, and when his team is trounced by arch-nemesis Stefan Ravndal (Kare Conradi) in a crucial match, Truls has a nervous breakdown and spends most of the next ten years in a mental hospital. When Truls is finally released, his wife Sigrid (Linn Skaber) is told he'll be fine as long as he learns to relax and never plays or watches curling again. Truls tries to follow the doctor's orders, but when he learns Gordon is in the hospital and needs a lung transplant in order to survive, he knows there's only one way he can raise the money -- put the team back together, and stage a one-time-only grudge match against Stefan and his boys. Kong Curling (aka King Curling) was an official selection at the 2011 London Film Festival.
