Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
In this percussion-centric release, drummers are offered a comprehensive technical study of four-way independence in Afro-Cuban Latin music designed to help improve coordination and independence while simultaneously expanding rhythmic vocabulary. Exercises based on the clave and cascara rhythms as well as other Afro-Cuban polyrhythmic settings aim to help percussionists achieve greater dexterity, and transcriptions of key tracks by Horatio offer the chance to keep learning even after the video lesson has concluded.
