Synopsis by Alice Day

In this episode of Connections 3, the fast-paced, science education series, author and host James Burke finds more connections between events and inventions that seem completely unrelated. His personable style and amiable delivery manages to engage the student as well as the adult viewer. Burke goes back to 1951 where a scientist is pondering nuclear fusion. From there he travels to the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty, checks in with King George III, touches on oceanography, goes to the Versailles Gardens, looks at handwriting analysis, and concludes with always surprising results.
