Synopsis by Alice Day
Author and host James Burke's Connections 2 series is a good candidate for repeated viewings due to the sheer volume of material he injects into a 30-minute episode. The pace is fast, and his enthusiasm for his subject matter is boundless. Viewers are exposed to Tesla, Volta, and Galvani and their contributions in Connections 2: Something for Nothing. Vacuum space, the barometer, compressed air, cholera epidemics, hygiene, air brakes on trains, tunneling in the Alps, the gyroscope, the electric motor, and the space shuttle are all discussed.
