After cult Italian director Lucio Fulci's four films with the popular comedy team of Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia in 1964 and three in 1965, it was clear that the well was beginning to run dry. Nevertheless, the collaboration produced three more films in the next two years, starting with this caper comedy released just 13 weeks after the last one, I Due Parà. Franco and Ciccio are once again cast as bungling thieves, a device which the pair had already stretched to the breaking point in countless other films, and develop a scheme to crack the vaults at the national bank. Needless to say, things go badly right from the start, as the slapstick duo stumbles and mugs through a series of contrived farcical set pieces which could only have come from the pen of Italy's legendary bad filmmaker Alfonso Brescia (aka "Al Bradly"). Brescia received story credit here, but three other screenwriters (including Fulci himself) could do nothing to salvage his shopworn concept. Lena von Martens and Mirella Maravidi co-star with series regulars Umberto D'Orsi, Ignazio Leone, and Enzo Andronico. Franco and Ciccio reunited with Fulci the following year for the equally dire Come Rubammo la Bomba Atomica.
