Synopsis
A panoramic 24-part chronicle of the rivalry between Communism and the West. The somber documentary, produced by a team headed by Brit Jeremy Isaacs ('The World at War'), is told in a standard clips-and-interviews format. But the series is often far from standard: Many early clips (including scenes of Hiroshima) are in color, and many of the insightful interviewees were insiders, including Mikhail Gorbachev, Fidel Castro and George H.W. Bush.
