Filmed long before his current fame as a horror novelist and filmmaker, Salome/The Forbidden re-releases two experimental films Clive Barker directed in the 1970s. While they're a departure from more familiar fare such as Hellraiser and Lord of Illusions, these films show that Barker's unique narrative sense and startling visual style were already firmly in place. They feature performances from Barker as well as Anne Taylor, Graham Bickley, and Doug Bradley as a precursor to Barker's famous Pinhead character. This edition was prepared with Barker's cooperation and participation.
