This film features scenes of beautiful national parks in the Czech Republic, set to the music of its native son, Antonin Dvorak. Born on September 8, 1841, Dvorak became an outstanding composer of symphonic and chamber music in the late 19th century. He studied music in Prague, and after the publication of his Slavonic Dances, Dvorak rose to fame. The listener can o discern the influence of Czech folk music on many of Dvorak's compositions. He often conducted in England, where he wrote his great Symphony No. 7 for the English. He then moved to the United States in 1892 and became director of New York's National Conservatory. While living in America, he composed his most popular work," Symphony No. 9, From the New World". Music from his best loved pieces are played in the video, as the lovely Czech countryside drifts by.
