Classical Visions: Chopin - Untouched Paradise (1995)

Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
Chopin's music plays in the background as the life of this Polish-French composer who is remembered as one of the world's greatest "tone poets" is recounted. Chopin gained a significant amount of public attention by the age of 16 due to his popular compositions. During that same year of his life, Chopin enrolled in the new Warsaw Conservatory of Music. Advanced music students may want to try and discern those parts of his compositions that sound as though they were influenced by the folk music Chopin loved to listen to in the Polish countryside during his youth.
