Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

The Civil War remains the bloodiest war in the history of the United States, as the North and South of the land engaged in a pitched battle over ideas and territory. Economics and slavery were two of those issues that rent the fabric of a nation and turned brother against brother. This series chronicles some of the key moments in the war's four-year progression. One of the most important places in Civil War history is that of Chancellorsville. Reenactments, archival photographs, journals, and commentary by historians recount events there, including the renowned Kershaw's Brigade and the final moments of General Stonewall Jackson.
