Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Claire Burton (Mignon Anderson), a poor Southern girl, marries the wealthy Paul Stanford (Carleton Macy) because she is dazzled by his glamorous life. But she's even more dazzled by the prospect of going to New York, and she sees her chance in Stanford's lawyer cousin, Douglas Hobson (Bradley Barker). Stanford catches the two of them embracing, and Claire insists that she's been unfaithful and that he should divorce her. Then she goes to New York only to find that Hobson has married one of his clients and is running for district attorney. She threatens to cause trouble, but his wife, Eva (Paula Shay), offers her money to keep her quiet. Stanford comes north and is ready to ruin Hobson's career. But it turns out that Claire was not unfaithful after all, and everybody winds up with their own mates (although you kind of wonder why Stanford would stick with such a troublemaker as Claire).
