Synopsis by Bhob Stewart

Originally made for the French TV series Cinema de Notre Temps, this 60-minute French documentary about British filmmaker Ken Loach has no clips from films by Loach. Instead, it concentrates on interviews with Loach actors, including Crissy Rock, acclaimed lead of Loach's Ladybird, Ladybird (1994); Robert Carlyle, seen in Riff-Raff (1990) and Carla's Song (1996); and Ricky Tomlinson of Riff-Raff and Raining Stones (1993). Interviewed aboard a train, Loach is also shown directing in Liverpool and screening Carla's Song for cast and crew in Nicaragua. Watch for the startling moment when the camera captures pickpockets robbing Loach on a Managua street. Shown at the 1997 Venice Film Festival.
