Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

In this political fantasy-drama, it is 1982, and the British have successfully invaded Argentina in the wake of the Falklands war. They have also occupied Buenos Aires, and the tango, the characteristic dance of Argentina, has been banned. This film is about a brave troupe of dancers led by Angel (William Gramuglia), one of their members, who works to keep this symbol of their national spirit alive by leading his gang in acts of sabotage and by dancing the Tango in the streets. They are opposed by a similar but pro-British gang, which also dances out its defiance. The title Cipayos - La Tercera Invasion refers to the fact that the British attempted to invade Buenos Aires twice in 1806 and 1807, and failed to do so, instead settling for taking over the Malvinas Islands (the Falkland Islands) in 1833. Cipayos (Sepoys, in Argentine vernacular), are any group of non-British who assist the British military.
