CIA: The Secret Files is a series based on the book The Agency by John Ranelagh. In each episode the shadowy battles of the Cold War are recalled by the KGB and CIA operatives who faced off against each other. The series sketches the history of the agency in the modern era. In this first episode, viewers examine the technological revolution in surveillance equipment that would define the task of intelligence gathering during the Cold War. Among other things, the history of the U2 spy plane is discussed in some detail. Jack Perkins narrates.
