Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

This touching documentary chronicles the wedding of a Jewish couple that met and became engaged fifty years before their wedding day. In a concentration camp in Riga, Latvia, 1942, Helma and Benno Schneider fell in love. Their love sustained them in the face of horror and tragedy. After the camp was taken down, the lovers spent a year hiding out in the Russian forests. As both of their families were completely destroyed, they could not have a traditional Jewish wedding. Their eldest son Sascha, who co-directed this film, swore that he would someday provide them with that wedding. Included in the film are interview of the couple as they reminisce about Hitler and life in the camps.
