Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This northwoods lumber tale was based on the novel by Francis William Sullivan. Dick Bream (Mitchell Lewis) is the foreman for a lumber firm known as Hill and Burchard, but when he discovers a new tract of timber, he quits in order to purchase it himself. He enters into a partnership with Allen Mackenzie (Herbert Heyes) to acquire the land. Hill (George Nichols) is determined to have the land himself, but Bream and Mackenzie beat him to it. Hill's next tactic is to convince Mackenzie to sell his half interest to him. Bream finds out about the plan, and insists that Mackenzie put his shares in the name of his wife, Eloise (Bessie Eyton). Unfortunately, Bream discovers that he has fallen deeply in love with Eloise, and he realizes he must leave the camp. Mackenzie follows after him and falls into a mountain stream. Bream saves him, but Mackenzie develops pneumonia. Before he dies, he offers his blessings to Bream and Eloise.
