Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This Edison five-reeler began conventionally enough, as a libidinous boss sent his star employee on an extended business trip for the purpose of having a "clear field" to the employee's beautiful wife. What the boss hadn't counted on was the perspicacity of the woman's young child. The story ends with the boss paying for his indiscretions with his life. Evidently, the screenwriters couldn't think of a truly dramatic "topper" for the film, thus it merely stops after its allotted running time. Too, director Carlton King left out several vital plot points that could have cleared up the muddier portions of the narrative. For the record, the stars of A Child in Judgment were Edison "regulars" Richard Tucker, Augustus Phillips and Mary Elizabeth Forbes.
