Synopsis by Janiss Garza

After listening to her father's socialist secretary, Magnus MacDonald (Edward Jobson), Patience Hilton (Peggy Hyland) decides that living a simple life is better than being rich. She's so convinced of this that she believes her family will agree if they are forced to live like poor people. So she has the family butler -- a reformed crook -- teach her to crack her father's safe, and then she and MacDonald attempt to steal the Hilton fortune so that her family will have no money. But in the midst of their heist, some burglars disguised as policeman come in and really steal the fortune. So Patience and her mother and father (Molly McConnell and Edwin Booth Tilton) find themselves truly penniless. While Patience is scrubbing floors and discovering that "the simple life" is not everything it's cracked up to be, her fiancé, Hale Thompson (Harry Hilliard) tracks down the crooks and saves the Hilton fortune. Much to Patience's relief, she is wealthy once again.
