This documentary profiles ranchera singer Chavela Vargas, who went from teenage runaway to iconoclastic, world-renowned artist. The film examines her penchant for hard living, her sexually rebellious persona, and the many myths surrounding her life. Interviewees include filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, singer/actor Miguel Bose, and Vargas herself. Directed by Catherine Gund and Daresha Kyi.
