While trying to help a poor, tortured soul named Father Thomas (Harry Groener), Prue (Shannen Doherty) is unwillingly transformed into an "empath," forcing her to feel and experience all the pain in the world. To rid herself of this "gift," Prue must locate the demon responsible for making empaths out of both Father Thomas and herself. Elsewhere, Piper (Holly Marie Combs) begins to wonder if she and Leo (Brian Krause) are truly right for each other. And Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) cannot understand why Cole (Julian McMahon) is spurning her affections.
