A high school honor student falls into a downward spiral following the death of her beloved mother, wrestling with her faith until her friendship with a friendly American exchange student shows her that all is not lost. Growing up, Sarah Goodall knew that her mother was sick. Sarah always thought always thought that she would find a cure before it was too late. But when Sarah's mother dies, the studious teen begins to question her own existence. As her grades begin to slip, a new exchange student named Mike strikes a conversation, and recognizes her pain - which gradually begins to subside as their friendship strengthens.
