This video is a profile of fashion designer Coco Chanel. The woman who gave the world the little black dress and sophisticated fragrance was born in 1883 in France, and rose to prominence as a designer during World War I. Her Paris boutique was known for its simple, exquisite designs, worn by glamorous women the world over. Coco Chanel continued to be a major force in design until her death in 1971. Archival film footage and interviews with friends and colleagues, including successor Karl Lagerfeld are featured.
