Synopsis by Mark Deming

A rebel refuses to give up the fight after his superiors try to call him off in this historical drama from Spain. In the wake of the Spanish Civil War, the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT) were one of the nation's leading anti-fascist organizations, and helped to spearhead the resistance to Francisco Franco's military rule. However, by 1951, the group chose to reject its active campaign against Franco's regime, and called off the resistance fighters who had been working on their behalf. However, Ramon Vila Capdevila (Lluis Soler), nicknamed "Caracremada" (aka "Burnface") by his comrades, refused to stand down from his original orders; instructed to sabotage the Catalan electrical system, Ramon continues cutting lines and interfering with service as much as he can while retreating into the wilderness, a fugitive from Franco and the CNT at the same time. Caracremada was the first feature film from writer and director Lluis Galter.
