The episode starts years earlier, as Jack and Kirgo are out tapping rubber trees. A nearby poacher, using dynamite to dislodge some equipment from hardened slag, has startled a mother stegosaurus and its children. Alerted by the noise, Jack arrives in time to stop the poacher from killing the stegosauruses with more dynamite, but the resultant explosion causes a cave-in that presumably kills the poacher. In the present, Scharnhorst has discovered an old train car bearing the stamp of General Technichem, a name Hannah knows all too well. Years earlier, her people found a similar train, carrying biohazardous materials which nearly wiped everyone out. Remembering that they'd found an antidote derived from a specific flower, Jack and Hannah race to find as many of the flowers as they can. Meanwhile, Scharnhorst hires an enforcer to have the pair delayed so that she can open the train car undisturbed -- and the enforcer remembers Tenrec from a certain cave-in.
