Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
A series of authentic, personal vignettes shed light on the secluded communities of Southeastern Louisiana. A troubled mother (Karen Kaia Livers) contends not only with the diseased family dog but also her alcoholic son (Dominique McClellan) who relies on his wife (Emyri Crutchfield) to support him. The community preacher (Wendell Pierce) faces demons of his own in the wake of his wife's unexpected passing. In his debut feature, director Phillip Youmans weaves a narrative about the complexities of human nature in stark contrast to the surrounding natural landscape.
