Synopsis by Karla Baker

This video examines the case histories of three of America's most infamous gangsters, Bugsy Siegel, Dutch Schultz, and Al Capone. They belonged to America's first generation of gangsters and gained their wealth and power through bootlegging, gambling, and prostitution during the age of Prohibition. Color pictures as well as black-and-white footage are used here to show how these three criminals and their footmen controlled and corrupted police departments, government agencies, and the "American dream".
