Synopsis by Sally Barber
Bright Sparks is a 12-part science and technology series created to stimulate children by introducing complex ideas in an entertaining and fun format. Programs blend animation and live-action to offer a fast-paced and imaginative lesson. Animated hosts travel around the globe to demonstrate the wonders of science and modern technology. Volume eight, Bright Sparks: Energy, takes viewers beyond man's earliest energy sources, that of which came directly from the sun, wind, falling water, and other organic matter. It examines both renewable and non-renewable contemporary energy sources, including hydroelectric power, nuclear fission and fusion, wind, solar, wave, and tidal power. Other programs in the series are Bright Sparks: Trains, Planes, Boats, and Cars, Bright Sparks: Water, Water Everywhere, and Bright Sparks: The Solar System.
