Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
Viewers are introduced to one of 150 dog breeds during each episode of this Discovery Channel series. Veterinarians, owners, trainers, and breeders share helpful information about each dog's temperament and habits so that current and future owners can take better care of these animals. Everyday family pets and more exotic breeds are featured. This episode features the great dane, an animal that's unrelated to Denmark, despite its name. Many of these dogs were first bred in Germany long ago. They make excellent watchdogs and are sometimes used for tracking other animals.
