Synopsis by Nathan Southern

Frances, Russell Hoban's beloved little badger - zealous and energetic as ever yet still in the process of learning gentle life-lessons from day to day - makes the broad leap from page to screen in this animated adaptation of Hoban's bestselling 1964 children's book, Bread and Jam for Frances. A devotee of bread and jam, Frances brushes aside the dinner plates her mother sets before her and insists on eating only her favorite food. Apparently catering to her whims yet subtly intent on teaching her a lesson, Frances's mother decides to feed her bread and jam - and nothing else - three times a day, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day of the week. It doesn't take long before her little badger hopes to never see another plate of bread and jam again; she realizes that the most exciting part of dinnertime is the colorful array of different foods that one can eat and enjoy from meal to meal.
