Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
In this elegiac black-and-white first film, the countryside of Tadzhikistan pervades the gentle story. Farruch and Poncik have taken a ride on a freight train traveling through the countryside in order to meet up with their father, who is a doctor. There is just a chance that he will be able to help them establish decent lives where he is now located. This turns out not to be the case, and the bond between the brothers, already strong, becomes the central fabric in their lives as they return to their starting place.
