Synopsis by Janiss Garza

In one of the stranger bits of casting during the silent movie era, Sessue Hayakawa plays a Spanish matador in this film. Vasco Lopez (Hayakawa) is in love with dancer Lola Castillo (Florence Turner), but her mother (Mayme Kelso) does not approve of the union. Lola herself is a fickle girl and enjoys the attention of Captain Pancho. The jealous Lopez brands Lola with a cigarette to mark her as his. But Lopez is eventually dethroned as Seville's favorite matador, and he becomes an outlaw. He blames Lola for much of his misfortune, and he is determined to track her down. Along the way, he marries Lola's sister Maria (Evelyn Ward), and they have a child. Lopez is killed while defending his child, thus atoning for much of his prior wrongdoing.
