Synopsis by Robert Firsching

Coming in the midst of a slew of gay-themed films from Hong Kong, this minor effort from director Jon Hau failed to impress many viewers or festival judges due its often offensive caricatures of homosexuals, bisexuals, transvestites, and heterosexuals alike. The film follows three gay friends as they deal with their individual problems and relationships. Jaffee is having trouble with his lover Peter because he cheated on him repeatedly, and Jaffee's friend Pauline (Pauline Chan) wants to turn him straight by seducing him. Meanwhile, Joey (Chan Kwok-bong), a transvestite in love with a straight man (Edmond Leung) is trying to keep his true gender a secret, and Fanny (Fennie Yuen) is upset at her boyfriend after he takes her little brother to a bath-house, making the boy realize his heretofore unacknowledged homosexuality. In the right hands, any of the three stories could have been handled with humor, sensitivity, and perception, but in the hands of Hau, a company called Fruit Productions, and an anonymous screenwriter whose pseudonym means "fruit" in Chinese (Sui Kwoh), there is hardly any stereotypical cliché which does not go unused. Siu Kwok-wah co-stars as Bitchy.
