Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Though celebrated architect Frank Lloyd Wright owned a formidable number of accomplishments, perhaps nothing could compete with the acclaim generated by his construction of the Heurtley House circa 1902. Guided by his unusual belief that "music and architecture blossom on the same branch," Wright had developed a system of "organic design" that the house exemplified. The results were extraordinary, given the extent to which the structure and its associated school permanently transformed architectural design and tastes, yet a century later, the building was in serious need of repair. This documentary profiles the early 21st Century restoration process that helped bring Heurtley back to its original state.
