Synopsis by Janiss Garza

In this charming action comedy which takes place during the times of the American Revolution, Bessie Barriscale plays Nora, a scullery maid in an Irish castle. When news arrives that a ship manned by John Paul Jones has arrived, the castle's owner, the Earl of Selkirk (J. Barney Sherry) and his guests all take off. Nora, however, stays and dresses up in the finery of her mistress, which is who she pretends to be when British soldiers come on the scene. Meanwhile, one of Jones' crew, Darby O'Donovan (Arthur Maude) happens onto the castle where he runs into Nora -- his old sweetheart in pre-American Revolutionary days. She disguises him as an Irish gentleman, but later he is discovered to be one of the crew and is captured. Nora saves him, however, by dressing up as a British officer, escaping, and getting the ship's crew to come to his rescue. In the ensuing battle, Jones' men are victorious and Darby offers Nora marriage and a new home in America.
