Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

In this, perhaps his best silent Western -- certainly the most solidly plotted -- lower-echelon star Bill Cody played a Texas Ranger discovering that the villain he has been chasing is his own brother. Attempting to escape, the brother (John Gough) apparently falls to his death off a cliff. A dejected Cody returns to the ranger station, where he finds solace in the company of the daughter (Nola Luxford) of his superior. The latter (Robert Homans), heavily in debt, allows smuggler Angus Bland (Mack V. Wright) to move contraband freely across the border to Mexico. Cody learns of the "arrangement" and goes after Bland, who in retaliation kidnaps the girl. Caught in his cabin, the kidnapper is killed after accidentally setting off a charge of dynamite. One of the gang members turns out to be Cody's brother, still alive but merely a shell of the man he once was after plunging from the cliff. The brother (rather conveniently) dies, so Cody can plan a rosier future with Luxford.
