Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
Talented musician David Bennett Cohen plays the Hammond B-3 organ as though it were originally made to be used as a blues and rock instrument. He elicits the sounds he wants by using presets, drawbars, percussion tablets, the vibrato switch, and the volume pedal. Cohen demonstrates different tunes and styles using blues scales, chord changes, solos, and rhythm grooves. After the instructional sections, the songs are played by a popular New York rock band so that the student can hear how it should sound when played properly.
