Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Simon Tam Tung and Hung San-lam spin this grisly gangster yarn set during the 1960s. The film centers on Wah (Andy Lau), a short-tempered illegal immigrant from China who joins Tong Fai's (Michael Chan Wai-man) gang. Along the way, Wah manages to run afoul of Fai's rival Hoi (Shum Wai) who smashes up Wah's wedding with a band of thugs. Later, Hoi manages to frame Tong on a drug charge, forcing Wah and his wife to flee to Taiwan. Fast forward seven years when Hoi makes Wah a business proposition. When Wah refuses, Hoi has his right-hand man Wai (Lam Wai) kidnap Wah's young daughter. In the melee that ensues, Wai accidentally kills the child, prompting Wah to return to Hong Kong bent on bloody revenge. Unfortunately, he discovers his former gangland boss Tong now is a dissolute junkie. Worse, he learns that Wai is in fact his long-lost brother who was separated from the family as a child.
