Synopsis by Hal Erickson
In 1988, Yvon Svoray and Richard Hammer launched a treasure hunt along the French-German border. The hidden booty was a cache of priceless uncut diamonds, reportedly buried by two American soldiers in a foxhole in the last months of WWII. The result of this expedition was recounted in a book by Svoray and Hammer, Blood from a Stone: The Quest for the Life Diamonds. A TV documentary based on this book -- and also on the incredible history of the diamonds themselves -- was aired by cable's History Channel on June 9, 2003.
