Synopsis by Cammila Collar

In this feature documentary, filmmaker Tonia M. explores the lives and experiences of lesbians of African descent living in the United States, through over 50 interviews with these women on topics like love, careers, children, society, and the media. As members of a niche community stifled by bias and stereotyping, black, gay women have plenty of frustration to vent -- but with progressive dialogue also comes hope. As many of the women featured discuss their visions of the future, it becomes clear that the increased communication, dialogue, and visibility offered by the modern age provide the possibility for positive change in this growing community.
