Synopsis by Janiss Garza

No matter what he does, Earle Williams can't drum up much sympathy for the thoroughly disagreeable character he plays in this melodrama. Shaler Spencer (Williams) has squandered away the fortune belonging to his brother Rod (Park Jones). In order to make back the money he lost he makes a deal with Mrs. DeForrest (Clarissa Selwyn), the mother of a man who has committed murder. Wade DeForrest (Harry Springler) killed Bowen(J. Barney Sherry) out of jealousy over a young woman, Vera (Ruth Clifford), who also used to be Shaler's sweetheart. If Mrs. DeForrest will give his brother's estate a large amount of money, Shaler agrees to assume the guilt, thus freeing her son. So Shaler is sentenced to die, but then he finds out that Vera still loves him. With the electric chair staring him in the face, he reveals evidence that exonerates him. Mrs. DeForrest has already given him the money, so Shaler finishes the film as a less than honorable man.
